Step into the ice cave - a crevasse so deep and cold that snow and ice often remain here through early summer. Do you dare? Cross Southern Ontario's longest suspension footbridge near the highest point of the Niagara Escarpment more than metres in elevation above Georgian Bay. Take a breathtaking metre hike across a bridge, which arcs 25 metres above a treed valley. You will feel as if you are suspended above the world!
Your adventure begins with a short hike to the foot suspension bridge overlooking a 10, square kilometre view of Collingwood and Georgian Bay. Climb high up into the treetop canopy, 40 feet above the forest floor, on a web of platform decks that has been spun together by cables and airborne walkways, a mere 10 inches wide.
Of course, it is absolutely safe, but the excitement of being so high above the ground overlooking the huge vistas gives a physical experience unlike anything else. The sway of the bridges and cables causes you to constantly re-adjust your balance, and you become aware of your own courage. Leave the forest canopy by zipping down a ft. You end the guided three hour experience with an incredible ride on a foot zip line!
Park at the harbour, visit the lighthouse, try to spot the "lion's head" in the escarpment rock, meander along the main street, hike the Bruce Trail or lounge on the beach.
